| October 2000 | A group of scientists from Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) and their collaborators published a breakthrough paper on the prestigious journal Science: Structure of the Protease Domain of Memapsin 2 (ß-Secretase) Complexed with Inhibitor. The paper made it possible to develop drugs targeting BACE1 for Alzheimer's disease. The study's major contributors, Xinli Lin and Shili Wu, later founded ProteomTech, Inc. |
| June 2001 | ProteomTech, Inc. was founded at Oklahoma City, OK based on its proprietary protein refolding technology licensed from OMRF. The company's initial mission was to tackle the bottle neck of "From Genome to Proteom" by providing protein refolding contract service to biopharma clients. |
| March 2002 | The Company acquired worldwide exclusive license from Georgetown University for Vascular Endothelial Growth Inhibitor (VEGI), which has become its leading drug candidate. ProteomTech also shifted its focus to developing protein therapeutics. |
| May 2002 | ProteomTech relocated to Emeryville in the Bay area of California. |
| 2002 - 2005 | ProteomTech outlicensed the Chinese rights of several protein therapeutics, including Alpha1 Antitrypsin and miniplasmin, to a Chinese pharmaceutical company. |
